iMac doesn't ask for password

My new 27" iMac doesn't ask for password on start up. It has done in the past (about twice) and upon installation of software it still does. When I go to utilities, system preferences etc, the reset password thing is greyed out.

I don't want to reset it. I do know my password however, I want to make sure I'm the only one in the house who can use it.

Any suggestions?

Try going in here Sys Prefs/Accounts and changing Log in options;
