I Recently set up my macbook to be a wifi router and i was wondering if there is any way of getting security on this network.

Please see the link above as it will answer many of your questions.

The main things you need to have are:

1. A password on your network, whether it be WEP or WPA, it is HIGHLY recommended. (The link above will expand)

2. Firewall on your computer. (Snow Leopard)

System Preferences -----> Security ------> Firewall ------> Advanced
-----> Enable Stealth Mode.

Make sure your firewall is on, and your router has a password on it.

what about just on leopard
and my router is the actual computer
so how do i set up a password on that computer

When the Mac is the wifi router, it allows you to use only WEP encryption. WPA is not supported which I found a bit strange from Apple.

So your wifi network won't be very secure since WEP encryption can be easily broken. If I was you I would use it as a temporal solution.
