    Swapping Wireless Cards
    Hi there,

My G4 imac was run-over by a car and no longer goes. Someone has given me a PowerBook of a similar age. The powerbook has no wireless card. Can I ripped the one out of my imac and shove it in the powerbook?

    iMac 15inch
    powerbook 12inch

    Cheers,

    Grant

    Specs:
    Imac 27" Retina 5K, 512GB Flash Storage, 3.3Ghz, 16GB memory, OS X.11.5.
Depends on the models, however iMac G4 generally use an 802.11b/g and PowerBooks of the same vintage use an 802/11b so yes provided of course it has not been flattened or knocked badly.

And don't play on the road with the PowerBook eh?

    Specs:
    27 iMac i5, MBP 13 & iMac 20, 2TB dual TC, AppleTV, iPh4S
My wife leant her Compaq against the back wheel then came back out and drove over it. Troubleshooting was simple.

That's probably the easiest computer repair statement/situation I've seen today!

And perhaps, Nick, the most honest also!

I think in this case because it was "the wife" that did it...maybe it's easier to admit too!

Plus it was just a "Compaq"!!!
