pb having problems connecting to network..

it shows full signal in the task bar, but wont let me connect to the internet. when i open network under system prefs, it says " airport is connected to the netwrok "mikes network" airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet.

how do i fix this?

Mac Specs: Mac Pro 8x3.0ghz 12gb ram 8800GT , MBP 2.16 2GB Ram 17 inch.

I have the same problem, it is soooooo annoying, it does it on my airport network at my house, airport network at school, linsys network at my friends house. I don't understand it. I did every thing right!
