Hello all,

I'm currently using Unison as a news reader. It uses a number of ports, and the one I'm currently using is 119.

I believe I have disabled my firewall within Mac OSX (Leopard) and I am not running through a router, but hooked directly to my DSL modem.

I have spent the entire day on the phone with my ISP tech support. They have told me that they do not block any ports.

However, I can not seem to gain access to port 119. Or any of the other ports listed as working for my News Host.

The ISP tech guy told me something about needing root access to open ports below 5490 (or something to that affect).

So, is there anything I need to do on my Mac's end to ensure that I can see port 119?

Thanks.
QUOTE Thanks
