    Wireless router password
    Hi,
I have just hooked up a wireless router "SMC" and it works fine. Basically I just plugged it in and it works just like anything I plugged in to my iMac , no set up screen came up or nothing. How can I password protect it from anyone else steeling my signal?

    Thanks
    Rick

    Specs:
    15" MBP, Core i7/2GHz, 8GB RAM, 480GB Crucial M500 SSD
You need to sign into the router's configuration web page and set up wireless security (preferably WPA or WPA2, do NOT use WEP).

The procedure should be covered in the manual (and varies by model).
Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
