Hi: I am a newbie to mac networking so please bear with me. I have a DLink DI-524 which my PC is currently connected to via wireless network. My network is password protected.

When I input this same password into my Powerbook, I keep getting an "incorrect password" message. This is driving me crazy. I am not sure why the pc connects just fine but the mac refuses to connect.

Any thoughts/help/pointers will be greatly appreciated! :batman:

have you set up a location for the connection on the mac? or set a new password( I think its required) for the pbook? go into the routers setup options by typing in the routers ip address into the url bar in safari, you may have to make a seperate account to access from the pbook.

Be sure that you are on the right encryption setting, if you are using WEP. Or make sure you are typing in the hex code correctly.

This is exactly what I needed, you are all totally awesome!!

What happened what I was using WEP, 128 bit HEX, but the powerbook had only WEP selected, not the stronger encryption level.

Now, everything is working perfectly, and I am really getting jealous of the powerbook -- I bought it as a present for my husband and it is blowing my 2 Ghz compaq away in speed, looks, & screen brightness and sharpness!

Your welcome, I knew it only had to be a minor setting that was throwing ya off, because I had a D-Link router and worked fine with my iBook using wep.
