I seldom use my powerbook but after the last series of update downloads, I can still connect to the internet both wired and wireless but on most pages I get a message of "cannot locate server XXXXX" with whatever address I need plugged in. It also doesn't matter if I'm using safari or explorer.

I only have the basic OSX and was looking to upgrade but don't even know what OS's my system can support. I can't even use it to connect to apple.com for support because I get the same message.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

after my latest series of update downloads thru apple. I seldom use it but have never had any problems before. It doesn't matter if I connect wired or wireless or use explorer or safari.

I can connect to the internet but get the same message whenever I try to go into a website from the main page. I'd reset the system except I'm afraid of losing a large photolibrary on it.

I was looking to upgrade the OS but don't even know what one my system will support. Can't use it to get help thru apple either becausee I get the same error messages.

I posted this here because I think I put it under an incorrect category a few seconds ago.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!
