I work very remote from corporate and have had enough of the corporate issued laptop. I've decided to work off my MBP and put the Lenovo Stinkpad into early retirement, or a least keep it in my home office and travel with the MBP. The company issued me a Verizon Wireless card several years back which I use all the time when I travel. The MBP does not accept the style card and I want to switch to an Express card. I plan to pick up one on Ebay and just switch the service over ot it. Here's the problem, the IT guys don't want to support Mac in any way so I don't want them to know I am using my new Mac when I go on the road. Since the Verizon account is corporate I would need to go through them to get the password and have the service switched to the new card. The account is in the company name but lists me as "the user" so the Verizon guys will kinda' talk to me if i call in with questions. Any suggestions on how I can switch the service to a new Verizon Express card without involving our the less than accommodating IT staff? I might be stuck with the existing wwan card and just have to use my broadband wireless router to connect but that's less than a perfect portable option. Appreciate thoughts...

I believe there is such a thing as a PC Card to ExpressCard/34 adapter, although they're not cheap. Otherwise, you have to have Verizon issue an ExpressCard or USB version and transition the number over to that device, which will require the intervention of a corporate representative that has access to the account.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Any links to an adapter? That would solve the problem. I have seen a bunch of Express card to PC card adapters.

This one suggests Mac compatibility. It's a little salty, but might be worth it.

Thank you. This is good to know as a back up. I might try to see if a sympathetic Verizon rep at a local office would be willing to help out with a true changeover.
Appreciate the fast response.
