My apologies if this is in the wrong board, but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with my current Mac Notebook problem. For some reason, my connectivity is intermittent. Everything can be fine for a couple of hours, when suddenly my wireless connection will just go in an out. 5 bars one second, nothing the next, 3 bars a second later, and then nothing again. Eventually, this cycle will stop, but the cycle seems to be lasting longer than normal recently. This doesn't happen to anyone else in my house.

Can anyone shed any light? How do I stop this?

Thx in advance.

Do you have wireless telephones? I had to upgrade from 2.4GHz handsets to 5GHz handsets and the problem went away for me. No matter what wireless channel I used on my Airport, whenever my wife would make a call, or when the phone rang, my wireless would drop. And my Mac was within 4 ft of the Airport.

Had the same problem, I even had a Linksys router that would lock up when the phone rang. I had to power cycle the router every time too, Very frustrating.

Yes, we have a wireless phone, and suffered the same problem. A quick call to BT seemed to do the job though. This doesn't seem to be connected to the in-out intermittent connection problem I have though. It's now started happening to my girlfriend's Mac, so I'm wondering if my router's just old. I don't want to waste money buying a new router and find the problem remains though. How likely is it to be a router problem?
