Hello,

When I try to connect to our home wireless network using my iBook G4, i get the error message "Error joining the selected network". When I start the Console and look in system.log, I see messages like

kernel[0]: AirPort: Link Active: "unisphere" - 00195bdca2fe - chan 2
kernel[0]: AirPort: Link DOWN (AP disAssoc 0)

("unisphere" is the name of the network) and sometimes

kernel[0]: AirPort: Link DOWN (Client disAssoc 0)

The wireless access point is a D-Link DI-524, using WPA encryption. The weird thing is, I never had trouble connecting until one day when I changed the network ESSID and passphrase. And before anyone asks: yes, I have entered the new password.

The iBook has no problems connecting to other networks, it's just the one at home that has problems. My other laptop, a Dell, has, on the other hand, no problems connecting at home.

I have tried the following:
  • remove and add the network in the Preferred Networks list
  • removing the network key manually using the keyring manager
  • using different network channels
  • creating a new location in the Network settings, instead of leaving it on "Automatic"
Nothing works. Any tips?

My specs:
  • iBook G4
  • OS X version 10.4.11 (up-to-date)
  • Airport Extreme w/firmware version 405.1 (3.90.34.0.p18)

Best regards,
StrangeQuark
QUOTE Thanks
