    Remote Desktop
I searched the forums, didn't see anything regarding this topic, hopefully someone can help.

I have OS X 10.2, and have downloaded Remote Desktop Connection, to connect from my MacBook, to my XP home box. I have checked the remote desktop option in "System" in the control panel. Yet when I try to connect, it says it cant connect.

I've read several things online talking about XP pro being able to use remote desktop, if XP home can't use remote desktop, why does it have the option in "System"?

Any help or ideas? Would buying Apples remote desktop do any difference, I hope it wouldn't make a difference so I don't have to shell out the cash, any help would be appreciated

You can connect to XP Home by remote desktop , it should work ok.

Check that your firewall isn't blocking the connection and that you're using the correct username and password.
Not been around these parts for a while. Trying to change that . .

Remote desktop needs a password by default.

    You can get round this:
Go to control panel -> administrative tools -> local security policy -> Security options -> Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only - set this to disabled

You should now be able to use RDC without a password
