My wireless just broke down.
And I was going to use an Ethernet cable to connect my PC (connect to internet) to my Laptop. But every time I connect the cable it says "you might not be able to connect to the internet or some network resources. This is because the computer did not assign a network address to the computer." Even when I click repair and it says it's refreshing my I.P. address it says that failed. Please help me I've done everything I know how to. By the way this is a PC (Dell) to a MacBook. Help! |

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics! |

Or the modem as it's a speedtouch and I don't know how to do that. Last edited by MacBoy1995; 05-05-2008 at 11:40 AM. |

Unplug the power cord, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in.

OK, but your Windows machine is basically acting as a router the way you have it configured. Have you rebooted the Windows machine since you reset the modem?

Yes, because your PC is acting as a router. If you'd rather not do that, I would suggest picking up a cheap, wired router. That will save you quite a bit of hassle and you won't have to keep your PC turned on.
