I've been trying to find an answer to why do I lose communication to my Epson printer. I will frequently lose the connection over the ethernet, in order to restore the connection I MUST restart both the printer AND my G5. I realize that Epson's Ehternet card is and always has been flaky, but this is too much. Has anyone out there have the same issue? I've asked many IT's and they all shrug it off. I'd go to an extended USB (cablestogo.com has the extended length that work) but this printer is used by more than one machine.
