dlink and airport express

hey all...i'm new to the wireless thing, so please bare with me....curious if the airport express will work with my dlink wifi usb adapter (dwl-122). I do not have a traditional airport card, hence the question...

finally, does the airport express need to be in the same room as the computer, or can it "broadcast" through walls?

Not sure about the D-Link, but the AP Express can go through walls....
