What does brush hardness do in photoshop? And why do people download extra brushes? how do they get these to work? Are they useful?

The harder the brush, the crisper the line you create. When the brush stroke is soft, it creates a fuzzy and soft outline on your brush stroke.

The extra brushes you find have special shapes : some may find them useful for certain types of images they want to create.

There's a lot of neat effects you can do with brushes. I try to download as many free ones as I can.

On my To-Do list: Learn how to make my own brushes.
