painterx and adobe photoshop

i've just switched from pc to mac. i have been using psp and painter on pc and as you can't get psp for mac i wondered if photoshop and painter are a compatable combo or will i have trouble moving pics between the 2 i don't have much tech knowledge

I'm using Painter X and Photoshop CS3 with almost no problems. That is, the usual incompatibility of layer effects not showing properly in Painter and vice versa are existent, but other than that, it is an efficient workflow.
