iPhoto not opening - help!?

Hi. After having a few odd problems with my HD, and eventually having to archive and install, I have found that iPhoto will no longer open at all., either form the dock or the apps folder.
Also, although info says the iPhoto library is 5.2 gig - about right, I can't find any photo's on the HD at all. No jpegs come up in search at all.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I have the latest version of iPhoto by the way.

Right click on the iPhoto library and select "Show folder contents". Then you can access all your pictures. Backup before you do anything else...

Hold down Option+cmd and launch iPhoto you should get a splash screen with the following

Try to rebuild your library

Either that or Spotlight your iPhoto folder Fire up iPhoto holding the option key down and point iPhoto to it (You can drag the folder to where you want it as long as you point to it via this method)

My iPhoto just gave up a few days ago. My pic files are all there but iPhoto won't even start. Help please!

If your iPhoto folder is still there try launching iPhoto with the option key held down and pointing it to the folder from there .Or try one of the above tips. You can also try and trash your iPhoto plist file
Verify and repair permissions helps too

It still doesn't work. Like the icon bounces once in the dock and quits. And I've tried opening it from the HD with no luck.......

How about installing it again? Just delete the iPhoto file + library after backing up all your individual photos and then resinstall iPhoto....

UPDATE! In the end I had to reinstall from my iLife dvd, but it worked fine, and automatically put all of the photo' s that were in there in the first placem, back in to the folder.
A strange one, but it must have lost a file or something in the Archive and Install I had to do.
