Anyway one can convert png files to jpeg? Im trying to use them as a wallpaper.

png files work fine as wallpapers...

Yeah, you should be able to use a png...

But if you still want to convert them, double click the png file to open it with 'Preview', then select 'File> Save as' and select 'JPEG' as the new format.

PNG do work as wallpaper but I have mine change every 15 mins and it doesn't display right thrown into my wallpapers folder which are all jpeg.

Umm... can't you just select the .png file, press enter, and replace the .png with .jpg? It'll ask you if you're sure, and then change the file type, I think.

You can just rename the file, but I think the image data itself is still stored in the 'png' format.

At least that's the way it looks in Preview:
