Cool trick to freak out your friends...
This is an old trick, and it might've been posted already, but I'm new, so I wouldn't know.

Press Control+Option+Command+8. It won't harm your computer in any way, but it will invert the colors on your screen. If you do it to someone else's computer they start freaking out. Enjoy!

You'd be amazed how many people post who do that accidentally and want to know how to fix it

That does wonders for my Terminal window colors. Semi-transparent background with bright pink text? Why didn't I think of that!

doing this will save power! less white = less power consumed. I'm only going to flip it back when I'm looking at pictures from now on out.

I used to do this at college (where most people don't use Macs often) to people while they weren't looking... great to see that great wave of panic sweep over them!

I was in a Future shop this weekend and one of the desktops on display had this done to it. I didn't really think twice about it till now. Fun stuff.

I do that all the time at the Apple Store. It's funny watching the staff there try to figure out how to set it back.
