i'd love to get a nice digital SLR, but the funds just don't exist. the Lumix was my concession to my desire to try to get back into photography (my last SLR is a Canon that's about as old as my 37 years). it just takes such a better pic than the nikon coolpix it replaced. and don't get me wrong, i love me some nikon, but their low end digital point and shoots are pretty awful.
