sharing my pics in iPhoto with other users on the same computer

Need advise on a question that may be classified as "newbie"...

I have imported a lot of pics into my iPhoto. I share my Macbook with the missus and she also wants to access the music.

Seems like a waste to import the files once again into her iPhoto on her "login". Anyone know if you can "point" iPhoto into an existing library? or if I should solve it any other way?


I guess perhaps you could create the library in the shared documents folder, but I don't know how to set iPhoto to read from that directory.
