Hello, I have a question I hope someone can answer.
I have thousands of photos and videos stored in iPhoto.
Question is, can iphoto sort them from each other?
eg can I instruct iphoto to put all movies in one folder and all photos in another or do I have to go through every event I have and do it manually.
Also, in a similar vein, i have taken the trouble to rate many of my photos.
Is it possible for iphoto to isolate the ones I have rated. e.g., if I wanted to just look at my 3 star rated photos, could I instruct iphoto to filter accordingly?
Any help on this matter greatly appreciated.

Smart Albums can do all of this and more.

Create a Smart Album that shows only photos rated three star or higher.
Create a Smart Album that only shows videos or only shows photos and not videos.

Thanks for that advice. I am now busy organising my photos in great ways!
Another question.
I've just isolated all my videos and am trying to play them but they won't play in iPhoto for some reason.
This didn't used to be the case.
I did upgrade to Lion OS a while back and wonder if that has anything to do with it?
If you have any advice I would be most grateful.

Too many possible factors to say. Have you installed Flip4Mac WMV Player and Perian (both free)? That may help if you haven't.

thanks again for the reply.
Yes I have both of these apps.
But they don't launch when I double click on a movie in iPhoto.
It's no real hardship as I can just drag the file into vlc or quicktime and it launches perfectly.
But I jsut wondered why it didn't launch immediately in iphoto like it used to.
QUOTE Thanks
