I've been using PSE 9 and now 10 for a couple of years.
Lightroom 3 is now available for a bargain £40 in the UK and I was wondering whether anyone who has used both could answer a few questions for me? - is the raw converter the same as in elements or the more advanced version found in Photoshop CS or something totally different - are there bits of each that are unique to each application so running both would give a fuller editing package - is the organiser better in lightroom thanks in advance for any help
Specs: Late 2012 iMac 27", 2.9GHz Intel Core i5 Dual, 1TB hard drive, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.8.3 |

The raw convertor is identical to the CS version.
Yes Yes, so much better. Of course, that is what Lr really IS, an organizer. Lightroom offers minor photo editing, it is NOT a pixel editor (Ps/PsE are). So while you can do most things with Lr, I still use Ps quite a bit. mike This machine kills fascists Got # ? phear the command line! |

One last question: I have a large number of images already in PSE Organizer. Are these easily transferable to LR? Specs: Late 2012 iMac 27", 2.9GHz Intel Core i5 Dual, 1TB hard drive, 8GB RAM, OSX 10.8.3 |

Lr allows you to import any media really pretty easily. So you'd essentially just need to go to File > Import Photos, and follow the dialogs
