Full price: $149
Upgrade price: $79

And if you've purchased LR 3 within the last month, they'll upgrade you to LR 4 for free!

Great new prices for an amazing piece of software.

Doug

Edit: I am in no way affiliated with Adobe (just for the record)

That is what I call a deal . . . thanks, Doug for the heads up on this!

Looking forward to upgrading, I'll wait til funds are in my favor. But very surprised about the price drop. I didn't know that Adobe knew how to drop prices, always thought they only knew how to raise them.

Currently running OS X 10.8.2

The price in Australia/NZ is considerably more than it has been previously and is much more than the US pricing.

Adobe ANZ are copping a lot of flak on their Facebook page and copy+pasting this in response:

Hi, thanks for your comment. Adobe delivers mission-critical software to creative professionals. Our pricing methodology takes into consideration the costs of doing business in different regions and customer research that assesses the value of the product in the local market. Conditions vary between markets and it’s difficult to make a straight comparison between countries.
A bit insulting really, considering it's a digital download from a US server.

Anyone know if I buy from the US store, will it cause any problems because I'm actually in Australia...?

I couldn't agree with you more! Their logic might hold up if they had to factor in physical overhead. Exchange rates not withstanding, of course. Were I in your position, I'd TRY to download it and not register. But you'll have to do so via proxy or VPN I suppose.
