    just use font book, it comes installed on OSX Tiger

    FontExplorer X is nice, it's free too.

    TypeSet is also nice.

    But what are you looking for it to do? "Font software" is pretty vague. The more details you can give the better your responses will be (just for future reference )

    fonts!!!
    I would recommend using Extensis Suitcase or Font Reserve. Both can handle lots of fonts in a professional environment. Font Book can't handle large numbers of design and customer and internal fonts...get the picture? Lots of fonts...whole lot of fonts. Both programs cost $99.00 each and you also get a free download of Font Doctor to fix damaged or corrupt fonts.

    To make fonts: Macromedia Fontographer 4. Old school, but bangin'.
    To install/edit/etc. fonts: just use FontBook...
