The same with every app sold on the Mac App Store.
All apps are sold and belong to your Apple ID, not the machine.
You can install it on up to 5 machines.

The $200 boxed version allows you to install it on one desktop and one notebook.
So, the App Store is really a no brainer for those that want Aperture.
