Mac Specs: build 9L31a,version 10.5.8,processor 2.4GHz,memory 4GB 667MHzDDr2,SDRAM,Intel Core 2 Duo

When I connect my Nikon coolpix camera image capture dose not detect connected camera. I have preferences set to automatically detect connected devices. I have never used it until now.

Mac Specs: 2008 and 2011 15" mbps, late 11 iMac, iPhone 4s, and too many ipods and other stuff

What Mac and OS are you using?
What Nikon software package are you using?

I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I don't have any software for my camera. Could that be the problem?

Ok, can you see the camera in iPhoto?

If not, try reinstalling from this update.
