Well, this is isn't really a mac-specific question, but...

I want to use a photoshop brush I found on somebody's website in some icons I want to post on deviant art (free to download). Here's the website: WG Watercolor Brushes Vol1 | Psdtuts+

It says "License: Free for commercial use. Redistribution is prohibited." I'm sorta confused by what that means. I thought free for commercial use means you can use it for basically whatever you want whether you're making money or not, but if redistribution is prohibited then you can only use it for personal use, right? Could somebody clarify the meaning of this license?

I just want to know if I can use the brushes in some icons I want to post on the internet, free to download.

Thanks in advance

It means that, if you decide to host the brush on your website and distribute it, you'll be breaking the license conditions. You can use it for commercial projects, no problem - just don't give it to anyone.

Oh okay, I think I understand. The only restriction is that I can't post a download link to the actual brushes. However, I'm allowed to use the brushes in a project and post that project on my deviant art page.

And am I allowed to post the link to the brushes ( WG Watercolor Brushes Vol1 | Psdtuts+ ) in the description of my project so people know where to get them? (They played a huge part in my art and I want to give credit) Or does posting this link count as redistribution? (In which case I will remove it)

As long as the link is directing the person back to the artists original page where it is clear they are the credited artist, that is fine.
