So now when I try to change back to the Adobe color picker, when I click on my foreground color, I get the eye dropper tool and PS basically freezes. I've read this happening to other people, but have yet to see an answer to the problem. Any suggestions?

I've found it!!! After searching all day. In case someone else wants to know. hold cmd-opt-shift when starting photoshop, it will ask if you want to delete your settings, select yes and your good.
