good way to convert GIF to JPEG?

I'm seeing a few options out there for picture conversion. I want to convert some GIF pics. Any recommendations before I download?....Thanks.

You can open the .GIF file with preview, then you can save it as a JPEG if you want.

Maybe not the best option if you have hundreds of GIF files though. But it works and you dont have to download additional software.

watch out for what to convert, while jpegs keep their quality in photos (where there are many colors on small area), gifs have a much better compression ration when working with larger areas of same colors ... just thought to mention it ...

I'll need to change the size of the files as well. Can I do that without downloading software as well? Doesn't look like I can...
