MS word 2008 is SLOW

Why is this program running so slow? The windows 2007 runs much faster when formatting a graph/scrolling through data. I have a lot of data to graph, and this program is constantly not responding when i ask it to make a graph. My macbook is new only 1.5 months old and i just reinstalled the OS 3 days ago. Running 10.5

Macbook may have come with Office 2008 demo. Did you uninstall that before installing Office 2008? Not removing demo can really low things down.
