so I was asked by this girl that I am friends with to edit a pic of her daughter. The pic is a grayscale picture and she wants to make the outfit a color. I know how to do that but when I try to edit the color portion photoshop is not letting me do anything with colors it is only letting me do things in grayscale. Is there anyway to change this.????????

Change the Mode from Grayscale to RBG or CMYK or LAB.

Hey, no problem! The learning curve with Photoshop is very steep.

That is the understatement of the year!! Photoshop is VERY dense. I recommend getting a good book or two and reading them thoroughly. Then, at least in my experience, it takes years of hands-on experience to really become proficient.

Proficiency perhaps - mastery, never. Even after using Photoshop for years now, I am quite certain I will never "master" it - it seems like a bottomless pit of capabilities.

My Macs: iMac 27" 3.4 GHz, Mac Pro 3.2 GHz, PowerMac G5 Quad 2.5 GHz, G4 Cube with 1.2 GHz Upgrade
My iStuff: 64GB iPhone 5, 64GB iPad4, 30GB iPod Video, 16GB iPod Touch
My OS': Mac OS X Lion, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS 9.2.2, openSUSE 10.3
