Hi Guys,

my wife has 2 old images of our niece when she was very young. The originals were stolen so these are precious to us. Unfortunately they are in .cpt format which as far as I know is Corel Painter's file format.

What can we use to convert these images into a format we can access, without Corel Painter of course?

TIA!

Thanks heaps for that.

I've downloaded it and run it against the files, but it won't process them. I think it's because their permissions are all screwed up.

For instance, these are the permissions on each file:

-r-xrwxrwx@ 1 kenstephens kenstephens 313319 8 Aug 2005 Bella July 05.cpt

As you can see, the owner has no write permission. I've tried chmod 644 and chown but neither of those commands will work on the files either.

Oh, as you can also see it's a command line jobbie to use nconvert. I used to use Unix a lifetime ago but I'm VERY rusty.

How can I get write permission for these files?

TIA!
