The Canon EOS camera series are good. And if he wants one that isn't too heavy, he should go fro the XSi, XTi, or XT: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...categoryid=111 I have the 30D, and it can get pretty heavy at times, all depending on what lense you have on it of course.

There is also the Nikon D40, but I don't like that there isn't an autofocus motor in the body, it limits the amount of Nikon F mount lenses you can use.
Personally, I would go for the XT / XTi / or wait for the XSi. I shoot with a 40D and grip, not a light camera, but it fits my hands much better than the Rebel series. masakatsu agatsu @lifeafter2am |
