My question is how do I go about deleting all the unplayable/unfindable songs in one go rather then trawling through and deleting each one individually

Hope some one can help. I may resort to deleting the whole thing and then re-inputting the songs but thought I would check out the alternatives first

My mother was diagnosed with alzheimer's this year. She's 45 years old which means that she is used to use computers and cellphones, but now she has started to have some difficulties using her regular cellphone. I'm planing to buy her a new one that would be VERY easy to use, but every single one seems to have way too many cool (confusing) features and buttons for her. Is there a way to customize the iphone, so that there would only be few "buttons". The picture that i attached gives you an idea what I'm trying to say. The buttons would work that way that ones you click it it immediately starts calling that person.

I've been having trouble with syncing and iPhone and an iPod touch with the same computer.

I am using my iMac with iTunes 9.0.2 along with my iTunes account to keep my iPhone 3G-S (update 3.1.2) and 1st gen 16 gig iPod Touch (update 3.1.2) synced. I have no trouble with music, videos, photos, contact, ect. But I can only get the apps to sync once on the iPod Touch, after a fresh reinstall of the OS software. I test it out a few times after a new install, I'm able to add or delete apps through iTuens. But when I try again later I can not modify the apps any more. Everything is grayed out. Almost all the apps are free ones, there are only 1 or 2 that I paid for.

I though this was something that I could do. I actually did the same thing with my old original iPhone. I kept everything updated on it and let my daughter use it as an iPod touch.

Am I missing something? Do both devices have to have the same name? Any pointers? Basically I want to manange my daughters iPod via my iTunes. Share all the music and apps between the iPod and iPhone.

So a friend shot me an invite to check out the new iPhone app called "Whatsapp" (clever name. Too bad I'm not clever enough to understand how it works) and the premise behind it seems great. Free SMS from iPhone to iPhone anywhere in the world practically...

I usually use Nimbuzz or Fring to communicate for free with other people who have IM services at home or on their iPhones, but this solution seems more elegant (for iPhone users) since you don't need a password, or to log on to anything etc..

In order to activate the service, you have to enter a 3 digit pin which they send to your iPhone via SMS, just for confirmation. I now live in Hungary (Budapest) and was able to find the country code prefix from the drop down list they supply for different countries, so that part is fine.

It then says to enter your phone number withOUT the country code. (06 is Budapest's country code) but then put in your number. I subscribe to Vodafone and their code is '70' so that prefix must be in the number as well.

I put in the number, and was given the three digit confirmation pin # and all went well up to that point. Now here's where I think something might be amis:

My iPhone is Jailbroken. I'm wondering if another app is interfering with one of the iPhone's API's which is preventing Whatsapp from doing anything ? When I go into settings, and try to turn on 'Status change notify', I get an message saying : "Sorry, there was a problem registering your handset with Push notification service". And yes, my push notification settings are all turned on. And yes, I have plenty of data left for my monthly quota.

Also, when I try and tell a friend about the app via SMS within the app, it starts to send, and then times out. I get an exclamation mark and a message saying message not sent, with the option to try again. but no matter how many times I try, it fails.

My iPhone is still on version 3.0, jailbroken and unlocked. I believe that push works just fine for all other apps, but I haven't tested it in a bit because I use backgrounder for my IM services.

Anybody have some insight on this issue ?

Doug

Hey, for those of you developing for the App Store, or thinking about developing, I thought I'd share my story, how I've gone from not even owning a Mac, nor knowing any Objective-C, but just having an idea, to a ready game that is now earning me a solid income.

The games I've developed are iAssociate and Associate This, both word association games, with iAssociate being a version that is selling for $1.99 and Associate This being a free version that includes a small set of the levels found in iAssociate.

I submitted my first version of these word association games back in April this year, and since then I've gone from getting just a few sales per day to getting hundreds of sales per day, in fact far surpassing my salary from my day job.

If you are interested in reading the full story behind this then you can find it at my homepage at

www.wahrman.fi

If you want to check out the games in iTunes you can find them from the following links:

Hey everyone,

I've got a bit of a strange problem with iTunes and my iPhone. When I go to sync my music, every artist in my library shows up except one!? I really can't work out why. At least three quarters of my music is ripped from CDs, the rest is downloaded. This particular artist (50cent) is a ripped CD and just doesn't show up. I rip all my CDs in iTunes.
Luckily it's not an artist I listen to very often, but annoying none the less.

Any ideas? :Smirk:
EDIT: Here is a screen shot. 50cent should be there along with the other artists.

I'm trying to get some pretty standard phone ringtones on to my iPhone. I've tried using some You Tube help guides, but I'm unable to get them into the Ringtones section in the library.

I have purchased a few ringtones from itunes and they are in purchased AAC format and they are all under 30 seconds long.

I opened up in explorer and changed the name file extension to m4r.

It says ringtone instead of purchased AAC now when back in itunes, but if I try and drag it over to the ringtone section of the library, all my library highlights and won't let me drop it in.

Scratching my head.

As always many thanks in advance.

Here's a screen shot, it's a pc runing vista and the latest itunes.

The answer I think led to two things.

1. Change setting to convert to AAC, I assumed because they had been purchased in AAC this would suffice.

2. The purchased AAC files from itunes seem more of an issue than non purchased??

Went through this how to guide in the end, thanks.
