SquareTrade issued a report of its findings of laptop reliability by manufacturer with Asus, Toshiba, and Sony comping out on top over Apple.

Here's the article by Gizmodo

The ones that surprised me the most were Dell and Lenovo; thinking the would have had respectively higher and lower failure rates.

One thing I don't is that in their summary they say 31% of all laptops will fail within the first 3 years, but the worst offender, HP, only tops out at 25.6%! Where is the 31% coming from? After there manufacturers not shown on the chart with huge failure rates?

I'll stick with my MBP anyway.

Anyone want to make any recommendations one way or the other, or point me to a good site to sort through this to figure out what I should get?
BTW, Price isn't an issue as any of them will be at no monetary cost to me or my family.

He has no idea (that I know of) so I kind of need to be secretive about it. I can't spend more than $1000, want 1080p, and at least 120hz. Sound doesn't matter to me because we have surround sound.

On Black Friday I'll be out in the boondocks, so not near any stores. I would like to purchase the TV before black friday in case stock goes down. But I'd like to have the guarantee that I can get the difference in price when the sale starts (like Best Buy offers).

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to buy a TV?

Thank you!!

My Algebra teacher and I came up with the idea of using a tablet computer in schools. The general concept is that all students are given a tablet computer preloaded for their specific classes.

For each class, you would have a specific set of applications. For instance, in 8th Grade Algebra, we would have a notebook, graph paper, an Algebra textbook, a calculator, and a way to email our teacher.

I have noticed that tablets are sold for $1,000-$2,000. Is this the ACTUAL cost the take to produce, or is it just what they are sold for so manufacturers can make money?

I'm going to try and attach my video about this soon. Post any questions, suggestions, or comments here!

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
