Ever since i installed Bootcamp 3.0 with Windows 7 Pro x64 on my Bootcamp partition, i have been getting many physical memory dumps with a blue screen. With a normal computer, when getting a blue screen, it restarts, but mine doesn't, it just stays like that until i press the power button. It happens very randomly, but i have noticed that it happens when i'm doing work, like editing animations from saved files within the partition, or if i access my external firewire hard drive. I did have this problem when i had XP Pro x86, but it wasn't as often, and i was able to fix it by updating the drivers with a program called Driver Checker. This is getting to be very annoying, especially since my hard drive has no problems when i switch over to the Mac partition. I notice no hardware problems with it, no clicking noises, nothing of the sort. My hard drive name and # is Hitachi HTS542525K9SA00 250GB. My partitions are as follows: Mac = 163.07GBs and Bootcamp = 86.64GBs. What is the problem?!

Hey, I'm encountering this problem after installing Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit. It says 'This program has known compability issues' when I try opening mac disc 2 to install the codecs. So far I've installed the audio and video codecs, but I need my keyboard to work in Windows 7. Is there a way to download a different version of the codecs from the disc? or is there a simpler explanation to why I keep failing?

I'm using a macbook pro
Intel core duo cpu T7800 2,6GhZ, 2CPUs

And while we're at it, a quick Q.
I just bought 4GB ram for my laptop, my friend told me this macbook was capable of pushing 4GB ram. But in my system info it says only 2.9GB is usable. What gives?

As for what video card is supposed to be in it... the box says it's an ATI Raedon, the Mac OS device manager says it's an nVidia 9400. I've installed ATI drivers, and it didn't make a difference, and it won't let me install nVidia drivers because it says there's no nVidia device.

I've searched and searched, done different things, nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me?

I have had this happen to me before and the only way that I have found to fix it is connecting the vga adapter(with OR without the screen) and start windows. The only problem now is I'm not going to be home for a while and the adapter is at home.

I need a different way to fix the problem then the one described above please.

Over the weekend, I purchased the Windows 7 Home Premium 'Family Pack', which runs $150. It is an upgrade edition that allows for the upgrade of 3 separate PCs. Apparently it's in limited supply as I had to hit up four different stores to find it, many of the e-tailers (Amazon, NewEgg, etc) are out of stock.

Anyway, I thought I'd relay that my install was a success. I had been using the Windows 7 Enterprise 90-day trial for IT Professionals and it worked well. Assuming I'd have trouble updating to Home Premium, I formatted the partition during install. I was able to do a clean install by *skipping* the Product ID entry during the installation process.

Once the install was completely finished, I used the Snow Leopard disc to do the Boot Camp driver package. Although I did get a warning that this package was 'known to be problematic', I proceeded with the install anyway and it went just fine. With all systems working properly, I initiated product activation and it worked perfectly - without the need to do two installs (as I've read was necessary with certain Vista upgrade editions).

So, apparently one can indeed use an "upgrade" edition of Windows 7 for a Boot Camp installation, which I know is normally excluded by the Boot Camp documentation.

May be I'm close to the solution, maybe still way far away.

My internal Superdrive is dead and as you know, Bootcamp doesn´t work with external DVD drive. I have SL 10.6.2.
What I did:
I installed Parellels and XP Sp2 as virtual OS. From the virtual XP, I told it to install XP on other devise, in this case, my windows partition created with Boot Camp. I used my external DVD drive with the same original XP SP2.
Everything went fine (XP instalation finished and works through Parallels, it has even formatted the partition from FAT to NTFS, I've checked it in the Info window in SL) 'til I had this message:

I think if we can give Parallels permission to write the physical hard disk, we got it, I don't know if it's possible or not. As I know, what Mac doesn't let write, is the bios or something in the partition to make it bootable.

This is what I wanted to share with you, I hope it will be helpful and together we can beat Boot Camp/XP/Mac OS X.

Sorry for my bad english.

Hey guys. I have a strange problem. I have a PC that runs XP that of course literally died this morning. Nothing. Anyway, I rip out the hard drive and put it in an enclosure for transfer. The problem is I need the data in "My Documents" which you all know is famous for permission issues. So the question is how do I change the permissions of this drive so that I can copy all the data? I cannot boot from it as it is NTFS, XP, and USB. It's a laptop drive so I can't just throw it into another machine ... and I don't want to mess with third party bootloaders and all that jazz. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot
