Trolls

Just a quick head's up:

We've seen a number of trolls join up just recently. It seems that there is a semi-coordinated effort from another forum, judging by the link-backs I'm seeing.

If you see a troll, please don't engage them. Just report the post (using the "!" button next to the post) and we'll bounce them out of here very quickly and remove any posts.

Thanks in advance for your assistance in helping to keep the forum clean.

Honestly, I'm blessed to have survived being 15 because of just that.

Thanks for the heads up cwa Have been doing just that. It seems they like to hit us around 5pm AEST ... One yesterday was a little sneakier, going back aways in a thread, then copy and pasting a very old post, so looked like he was making a contribution to the conversation. But the dodgy links gave him away ....

It's when we get the three billy goats gruff in addition to the trolls here in M-F that I'll start to worry

Not all trolls are teens. And they're not just here in this forum. The MS sponsored Windows forums which get around 1000 or so posts a day are inundated with trolls.

There's so many "hooks" out, it reminds me of the bass fishing contests we have here in Texas.

Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
