30" monitor with my 20" imac

ive got a 20" iMac G5 400G HD 2G RAM + Westinghouse 17" widescreen LCD. i just cant stop looking at 30" monitors and getting rid of the 17". i was wondering if anyone else has done this already? and if anyone had a suggestion for wich one ta get? ive been looking at this http://www1.us.dell.com/content/prod...=19&l=en&s=dhs any help on this would be appreciated

guess im thee only one. now for a better Q. what is the max resolution that can be used with screen spanning on my imac (it is the newest model)? i think its 2048*1536 but im not sure. im also looking for any suggestions on which 30" monitor to get. please help. thanks

i don't think you can run 30" display with iMAC. you need a special GPU for that.
too many pixels fro iMac's graphics card

this post went no where so i posted this screen spanning ta a BIG monitor it didnt go antwhere either but it is more detailed on what i want to do. thanks for your help

I wouldn't want a 30in that only supported 1280x768, I would look into the Dell 24in that supports 1920x1200
