Apple TV does not show movies using the whole screen

I have an apple TV connected to a 40" TV. It is a great thing, but many of my movies do not show using the whole screen even though there is space for it.
I have used Aimersoft Total Media Converter to convert my DVDs to files. I have used the the Apple TV setting in Aimersoft.
What can I do the extend the picture to the full screen?

Chances are that the DVD wasn't mastered in the same ratio as your TV.
Unfortunately, we don't discuss DVD ripping on this forum, so this is the only insight I can give you.
http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/mov...y-ripping.htmlLiquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
