Apple TV vs Blu-Ray internet streaming

I bought an Apple TV for the bedroom and use it to watch Netflix movies with my wife. I was contemplating buying a Blu-Ray DVD player with Internet streaming capability for my downstairs mancave TV, but wondered if another Apple TV and a Blu-Ray without streaming(costs less) would be a more versatile approach. Does ATV offer more than the DVD/Streaming combination?

It allows you to stream digitally purchased media as well as allowing you access to all your media that is within your iTunes library. If you have any kind of a digital media based collection and use iTunes, it allows you another avenue and iTunes does sell HD media that you can buy and stream via iTunes and your computer) for less than Blu-Ray prices.
