Re-Storing movies on Apple TV

I recently purchased a 1st gen. Apple TV. It was working great until I tried to custimize the syncing. Now my movies are only stored on my mini (which is running out of memory) and not on the ATV. So now all of my movies have to be streamed and it seems that my network is not good enough for streaming movies. How can I get my movies to be saved back onto my ATV?

You can't do both... Either you stream or you sync.

Thanks. I've tried to sync but it does not save them back on to the ATV.
