Hi,

I have perian installed on my MB. Does this mean itunes can steam avi files since these work in quicktime?

Is there a way to steam quicktime -> apple tv?

Thanks in advance

No, because the Apple TV needs to be able to decode the video, you're just streaming the file to the Apple TV.

Which AppleTV have you got? If its the old one with the harddrive you can download a program called atvflash and stick it on a usb flash drive. Then following the instructions you load that onto the appletv and it will provide perian and mplayer on your appletv. If its the new one then you are stuck. For now.
