i have just been on the Uk site and i thought all of apples sites got a redesign

The Swiss site has the redesign only on some pages - weird. There's also no full feature listing of Leopard yet.

Probably the marketing teams are working on wording and translations, and I think even the UK text will be carefully tailored.

Just give it time :-)

What about the canada site? Not much different than the US site, pricing, maybe some spelling differences ie colour vs color

The UK gets the guys from Peep Show as Mac and PC? Man, I'm jealous. Those guys are hilarious. They've not been showing Peep Show on BBC America much lately though. Is it even on the air any more?

A new series of Peep Show started not so long ago. It might've finished by now. They didn't do much for me to be honest.

Software releases are usually world-wide. There's no restrictions like with a phone. Even iPods release world-wide.

I hear Apple is having some technical issues with the new design, so maybe they're still polishing it before all other sites get updated by respective countries. Plus, as I said, translating this stuff isn't necessarily easy.
