The Security Update addresses a security issue in sendmail where a remote individual could gain access and control of the system. Although sendmail is off by default in Mac OS, it is recommended that all users install this Security Update. This update also includes a newer version of OpenSSL that provides improved data confidentiality by addressing a recently-discovered security issue.

Run Software update.

I think I beat schweb to it

Thanx for the notice. I have been getting Security Announcements and CERT/CC Advisories, all morning on this. Most of the attacks on Unix operating systems are of this type. You really don't see any viruses. At least not in my travels.

Just did the upgrade. I too got a few warnings from Red Hat about this. Good to know that they take the initiative to get these things patched. I could go years without thinking about going to windowsupdate.com, and by that time, I am downloading a whole CD worth or patches.

Thank you Linus Torvalds!
