    I posted this here to get wide coverage and because it's a great way to enable your older Macs for Air Drop which currently do not support it. This is taken from the OS X Hints forum which is run by MacWorld Magazine and is freely available to everyone.

    Not working on newer Mac
    This works great on my 09 Mac Mini and 07 MBP, but my wife's 2011 MBA couldn't see either of my Macs.

    Not a problem says I, because the article says you have to run the terminal script on the newer machine too. I did that and she can now see my Macs, but can neither send nor receive files.
    No problem sending and receiving between my older Macs.

    Thoughts? Or a fix?
