Aaand no disc drive. Why not just call this the Mac Air? Or would that be a little too confusing? Hmm...

Glad to see the drive go. I'd rather see the space used for improving the other hardware and helping with temperature control. Which apparently is exactly what they did. This is a warning shot… the next iMac will not have a DVD drive.


Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it.

There'd be nothing stopping legacy users from adding an external drive for legacy support of physical media.
