I slightly, mildly agree that Apple didn't focus on the iPad 2 itself as much as it did on the apps and accessories. But no one is pretending that the iPad 2 is something new and different. It's an improvement. You know, a 2nd generation. Duh!

I think his ideas on the color thing are a little out in left field. A bit far-fetched.

I still think it's pretty lame to switch from the first gen to the second already...and Apple clearly showed that with their keynote. It's nice and fast, and has a camera...but its nothing that we didn't expect...even on the first one.

What ever happened to the carbon fiber ipad?

Yeah, but the best is you'll still have people here swearing up and down that Apple is release the iPad 3 this fall, despite the fact that Apple, in the iPad 2 release presentation, already called 2011 "The Year of iPad 2".

The reason Apple made a video about the cover is because otherwise people just wouldn't understand it and appreciate it for what it is and how it works. And people need to fully understand and appreciate its innovation to begin to consider spending $30 on it.

The Smart Covers are really nice. Apple will sell a lot, since there aren't going to be enough third party cases at launch.

I thought this was interesting, turns out the fold design is similar to something else:
New iPad 2 Smart Covers inspired by Japanese bath tub lids?
