The porn industry has certainly managed just fine getting its product to Apple mobile device users despite this ban. There are tons of porn websites out there geared specifically for mobile devices.

Me neither, People may become prude or squeamish talking about the subject of porn. But just in the U.S. alone it's a multi-billion dollar industry.Whether Apple likes it or not there going to get their product on the iPad.

This one must have slipped by the censors at the App Store --

I don't think it is even in the Top 100 anymore (probably because it isn't a very good app in the first place), but unlike the iBooks that were removed from the top sellers list, this app was in the Top 100 for some time.

While it was certainly suggestive in nature, the "graphics" were just simple line drawings with no detail or explanation which is probably why it only has 2 stars... and they should consider those a gift!

No. I don't think Apple has that much influence over other people's will to innovate new ways to get what they want. As we've seen time and again, prohibition generally just causes people to come up with new and creative ways to get what they want. Some will jailbreak, others will buy another product. Wall off Mexico, folks will get it from Canada. Those who create the stuff, be it porn or whatever, will find other delivery methods or evolve their own to deliver product as long as it is profitable. I'm not a fan of the Nanny-State "protect me from myself" mentality anyhow. Darwinism works just fine, and stupidity should hurt.

I applaud Apple on this one, just because they could allow it does not mean they should. Free Speech was intended primarily to protect against an oppressive government.
